(Unitarian Universalist)
First Unitarian Church of Toledo is a beacon of progressive religious thought in Northwest Ohio. The church depends on the generous financial support of its members and friends. After making a financial commitment, you will have the right to vote at our congregational meetings.
You will receive our church mailings and a subscription to the UU World, the magazine of the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Our pledges support our mission, including:
HOW DO I SUPPORT THE CHURCH FINANCIALLY?
As a new member or new friend of First Unitarian Church, you are asked to make your first financial commitment to the Church by completing a Partial Year Financial Commitment Form. This affirms your support during the current fiscal year (ending June 30 of this year).
Thereafter, you are asked to complete an Annual Financial Commitment Form each year during our annual winter pledge drive. This affirms your continued support during the upcoming fiscal year (July 1 of this year--June 30 of next year.)
How much should I give? The nitty-gritty:
Our operating budget benefits everyone who comes through our doors or participates in our community. Because each of us is at a different place financially, we ask members to pledge 3% - 5% of adjusted gross in-come for each full fiscal year. This is our fair-share level of giving. Both the giving guide and financial commitment forms can be downloaded and copied by clicking on the links in the right-hand column.
OUR GOAL
To us, true stewardship means the responsible maintenance of a self-sustaining spiritual community. Simply stated, we feel that the true potential of our community can be realized only through 100% participation of every member and every friend.

How Shall I Make My Payments?
You may pay your commitment weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually.
The best and most cost-effective method is to place your check in the offering plate during a Sunday service. Write “Pledge” on the memo line. You may also mail your pledge to the church office if you are unable to attend.
Many Area banks offer on-line banking services which allow you to set up an automatic monthly debit from your checking or savings account. And, of course, payment by credit card is available.
Please place cash pledge donations in an envelope with your name on it. It is impossible for us to track cash placed anonymously in the collection plate.
We issue statements quarterly to let you know the amount received and balance due on your pledge.
